UPDATE: The event has been cancelled due to concerns raised about covid protocols and the volunteer organization.
If you need to carpool, meet in front of the UNC by 6:30 AM to arrange transport to Vernon.
We need to meet at the Alliance Church in Vernon no later than 7:30 AM to debrief on the work orders they receive that day and receive equipment/lunches.
After the debrief, we will drive/carpool to the clean-up site from the work order.
We will be working primarily on:
removal of hazardous trees
removal of appliances
some ash sifting (if we can get enough proper PPE and training)
Volunteers need:
to be above the age of 18
to wear good protective footwear
Lunch will be provided by Samaritan's purse, but bring snacks and water if you can.
The volunteers will be split into two groups:
students working a half day (roughly 4 hours)
students working a full day (8 hours)
