Whatever career you’re after, try looking in some of these locations for a start.

Quick tips:

  • If you’re looking for a summer job as a student, it’s best to start looking and applying in December. Many job postings will close before February ends.

  • There are a variety of good career experiences that will not be found on the UBCO Job Board. I’ve made a list here, but there are even more places you can work with an environmental chemistry degree. Also, don’t be afraid to reach out to organizations even if they do not have a careers page or any active postings!

  • There are sources of co-op funding outside of of the UBCO program, such as Eco-Canada. If you register and become pre-approved, and your potential employer meets the requirements that are set out, they could be eligible for up to $5000 in funding for your wages. At the very least, it’s something worth mentioning during an interview!

  • Speaking of interviews, the BC provincial government put together an online video resource to help you prepare for their style of interviews. I found it generally useful.
